Grosvenor Casino App
Grosvenor Casinos are a well known brand in the UK, with real world casinos in many major UK cities. They’ve now made the decision to try to take on the online gambling market. It hasn’t gone well!
Download our Live Casino app We brought you our Live Casino app back in August last year and behind the scenes we have been continuously looking for new ways to further improve your overall live casino experience. Grosvenor Casinos is connected to land-based casinos or betting shops. Judging purely by the online casino website, this casino would have a lower rating that it currently has from us, however, because of the availability of brick-and-mortar establishments and the credibility they add to the online casino, we've decided to increase our rating a little bit.
Our Rating: (1.1 / 5)
In this Grosvenor Casino review, I’ll reveal some of the issues I had while playing online here, and one serious breach of their license which landed them a substantial fine.
You’ll also learn why the app isn’t worth downloading, and the alternatives which you should look at instead. There isn’t one thing that these guys do that one of their competitors doesn’t do much, much better. Let’s start by looking at some of those better options, then I’ll move on and deal with the bonus.
Alternatives to Grosvenor Casino
If you haven’t already seen our pick of the best casino apps, then that’s a great place to start. If you’re in a hurry, here are a couple of suggestions. These are top rated, UK licensed online casinos which are much better than Grosvenor so I strongly recommend you play at one of these instead.

Grosvenor Casino Welcome Bonus
Normally when you join a new online or mobile casino, you can look forward to a decent sized welcome bonus to get you started. Usually it’s a nice big first deposit bonus, maybe some free spins as well, something like that. At least some sort of offering to make it worth your while spending two minutes filling out the form. The new player bonus at Grosvenor Casino is a lousy £20. Yes you read that right. It’s not a typo, I didn’t miss any digits out. A measly 20 quid, with a 5x turnover. It’s simply not worth your time bothering with this. If that’s what these guys think of their new players, you can only begin to imagine how generous they are with their existing ones.
This really sucks in my opinion. But it’s not the only reason I’m not recommending you play here.
Key Features
There’s no denying that Grosvenor Casino is a famous brand and a name that a lot of people know, especially in the UK. However, I find that a lot of high street betting brands, when they choose to take their product online, just don’t make any effort at all.
It’s as if they’re just relying on their brand name and they think that because people know the brand, they’ll sign up even when the product they’re offering is inferior. We’ve seen the same thing happen with brands like Ladbrokes and Betfred, and now Grosvenor have fallen into the same trap.
These guys need a wake up call. The competition online is completely different. Players have a genuine choice online and they don’t have to settle for second rate service just because there’s nowhere else to go.
So key points – well, you’ve heard of them. But unfortunately, that’s as far as I can go. Whatever type of player you are, whatever you’re looking for in a mobile casino, somewhere else will be doing it much, much better than Grosvenor.
Website Design / Ease of Use
In fairness, the responsive Grosvenor Casino mobile website isn’t terrible. It isn’t perfect either though. On the face of it, the appearance is OK, but half of the navigation menu disappears on the small screen and there’s no obvious way to access it. This means you effectively lose access to half the site.
Also, the text on the game icons is really tiny. So unless you have a magnifying glass, you can’t tell what the icons are actually for. The only way to find out is to physically click each one. It’s a horrible user experience.
The app is similar in terms of the display, but with the added drawback that it runs SO SLOWLY on Android that it’s often completely unusable.
Software
In fairness they do feature games from a fair variety of software providers, including big names like Playtech and NetEnt.
Choice of Games
The game selection is a little below average. They do have online slots, table games, live dealers. The basics are covered. It’s just that they have fewer games than many of their competitors.
The range of slots, in particular, isn’t extensive. They’re also hard to navigate on the small screen, so even if they did have a better range, you’d have a hard time searching through them.
If you’re looking for a really good place to play online blackjack, you should look elsewhere – Grosvenor just doesn’t excel in its choice or quality of games on mobile.
So again if it’s variety you want, there are other online casinos that offer a far bigger game selection.
Banking – Deposit/Withdrawal Options
Grosvenor Casino accepts Debit Card, Credit Card, PaySafe and PayPal online and on mobile. That’s your lot, so there is not much choice in terms of payment options at Grosvenor.
Withdrawal times are 1-3 working days for cards (which is average) and 24 hours for PayPal (which is quite slow compared to most other sites).
They also offer bank transfer withdrawals which take 1-5 working days.
Safety and Security
Grosvenor Casino have a current license from the UKGC and also from Alderney Gaming Commission.
The UK license record shows that in 2018, Rank Digital (who own Grosvenor Casino) were fined £500,000 for failing to comply with three provisions of the license in relation to a problem gambler. The action states:
During an investigation, the Commission found that the licensee failed to interact with a customer who was displaying problematic behaviour, contacted him during a self-exclusion period and did not follow rules for the provision of credit. The failures relate to a customer who gambled substantial amounts with the licensee’s land-based Grosvenor Casino and online.
You can see details about this on their license here.
This isn’t good. It looks like a reasonably serious failure in their duty of care towards a problem gambler, which doesn’t sit well with me at all.
Customer Service/Support
You can contact support via phone, e-mail or live chat. There is also an FAQ section on their site. While it’s fairly difficult to navigate, you can find the answers to most of the common questions if you look hard enough.
I tried the live chat and was connected in a couple of minutes. I asked a couple of deliberately “newbie” type questions, and was directed to the relevant FAQ answers.
I would have preferred a bespoke answer which would have made me feel more valued as a player, but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt here as it may have been a busy period. So overall, this was fair enough.

Only players from the UK and Ireland are accepted.

Verdict
Seriously guys, don’t join this casino and don’t download the Grosvenor App. You can do better, and there are lots of options out there. So do yourself a favour. Check out some of our other reviews and play somewhere else.
